“Turbo”. The name could not be more fitting for the tiny, two-legged Chihuahua who is making major strides in his efforts to become mobile.
The little guy’s story has gone viral since The Downtown Veteran in Indianapolis took him in to their facility, and began documenting his progress on their Facebook page.
They posted the first picture of Turbo and an explanation of his story on July 14th after a couple brought him to their facility.
“Meet Turbo! He is a four week old Chihuahua that was surrendered to the clinic. He was born without front legs, but is healthy otherwise,” reads the caption. “He will need a lot of care during his life and will be able to walk with the aid of a cart. He will be going to a very special home once he has been weaned over to puppy food.”
In the two weeks since, they have kept Turbo healthy, and started physical therapy to help him grow strong.
“Our technician Ashley has been overseeing his care and has done a great job helping Turbo to strengthen his back legs,” another photo caption reads.
And according to Ashley, they are coming up with very creative ways to do so.
“Just made this little cart over the weekend so he would have a little more freedom to get around on his own!” she explains.
The facility says they are all “...just amazed at Turbo's zest for life in spite of his limitations."
It seems safe to say everyone who hears is story is, too.
Go, Turbo, go! We’re all rooting for you.
