A Northwest Harris County minister and musician was killed overnight in his garage after trying to talk it out with an intruder.
Police say 31 year old Daniel Durham admitted to the murder after he was brought to the Harris County Jail.
A desperate call drove police to the deadly scene on Amber Lake Drive in the Deerfield Subdivision early Friday morning. Donald Frazier a well-known pastor was shot and killed in front of his wife.
"I can't imagine having to witness something like that and definitely feel for the family. It's very frightening," Robyn Soto a neighbor said.
Police say around one in the morning Frazier and his wife woke up to their generator going off. They say the 69 year old noticed something suspicious when he saw his garage door was open, so he grabbed his gun.
"The homeowner's wife heard gunshots fired. Her husband apparently confronted a suspect in their garage," Sgt. Ben Beall with the Harris County Sheriff Homicide Division said.
Shortly after a security guard later found Daniel Durham walking in that area covered in Frazier's blood. Investigators found the murder weapon which is Frazier's gun in neighbor's trash can.
Frazier's family informed his Facebook followers of his tragic death. Several loved ones and friend's shared their condolences.
Durham admitted to shooting Frazier in the head. He is charged with murder.
