Several injured after fight breaks out on cruise

Posted: Updated:

NORWALK, Conn. (AP) - Several people have been injured after a brawl broke out during a late night cruise off Norwalk.

Police tell the The Hour the fight involved about 30 people early Sunday morning aboard the paddle-style Island Belle. They say it continued after passengers disembarked at 4 a.m. at the city's boat launch.

No arrests were made, but police say an entire shift from the department responded to quell the situation.

Police say passengers suffered cuts from flying beer bottles and other minor injuries. The boat suffered damage including broken windows and furniture. Police are continuing to investigate.

The overnight dance cruise was sponsored by a local radio station.
