Retired NY Giant legend urges skin cancer screenings

Posted: Updated:
NEW YORK (MYFOXNY) - One New York Giants legend is now educating men and women on skin cancer prevention.

Retired quarterback Phil Simms is encouraging everyone to get a free skin cancer screening, after his own scare four years ago.

The American Academy of Dermatology recently released a survey, which shows skin cancer in men is twice as fatal as it is in women.

Doctors say it's because men are less willing to get screened

"We want to educate and motivate people to go out and do what we are talking about. It will be on Spotme.org they will tell you where the closest place to you to go get a free cancer screening" Simms said.
