A group of children from all over Georgia are getting to do something they don’t normally do…they’re getting to be kids!
Children with severe burns are spending a week at Camp Oo-U-La at Fort Yargo State Park.
"There are so many people here who have gone through similar stories like me, where they have been burned. Most every day of my life, except for this week, I'm with people who have never experienced anything like this,” said Jaden Benford, a camper.
Every child attending the camp is the victim of a serious burn.
The goal for the Georgia Firefighters Burn Foundation is that the children don’t feel alone.
"There are people out there that are like them, and there are connections they can make with people, and there are things they can learn from each other and share with each other and that they're part of a family,” said Dana Dillard with the Georgia Firefighters Burn Foundation.
Some of the activities at camp included a parade on Wednesday and prom Thursday.
