From Austin to Dallas and even right here in Houston...a regional bar is being accused of creating rules to keep people of color out.
The latest allegation comes from a social media expert from Houston who now lives in Dallas.
DeAndre Upshaw says last weekend he attempted to get into Kung Fu Saloon at their Dallas location with a group of White friends but was denied entry into the business.
Upshaw says a bouncer told him his shoes didn't pass the dress code.
However, the social media expert says two Whites in his own party who also had on the same Chuck Taylor Converse were allowed to go in.
Upshaw's allegation comes after dozens of others have complained online about the Houston location on Washington Avenue.
Blacks, Hispanics, and Asians all say they were not allowed into the bar based on dress code or other mechanisms used such as capacity.
We placed a call to the local manager of Kung Fu Saloon in Houston and he declined to comment on the issue.
