UH Student Tries To Break World Record For A Cause

Posted: Updated:
A local student just wrapped up his junior year at the University of Houston but already has another challenge on his mind before summer starts.

Known to be affordable and chill, disc golf has also become a serious sport.  So much so that Cody Miller is chasing a world record this weekend.

"I'm attempting to break the world record for the most disc golf holes played in 24 hours.  I have to play 1,620 holes in 24 hours," said Miller.

Making it onto the disc golf scene has meant a lot to Cody but not as much as his ultimate goal, raising awareness of Houston's hidden underworld: human trafficking.

"I actually have a friend I go to school with who was a victim.  Hearing her story makes me passionate and want to help a lot more."

He's raised about 1500 dollars for the Houston Rescue and Restore Coalition.
