Early Monday morning parents of Katy Junior High are receiving a disturbing email concerning one of the teachers at the school.

According to a release by Katy ISD, 46, Heather Lynn Miller,  a social studies teacher. was arrested on the campus on Sunday night by district police after they were found allegedly engaging in an inappropriate relationship with a 14-year old student at the school.

The alleged incident happened in a portable classroom.

According, to the release that teacher has been removed from the classroom and placed on administrative leave, pending investigation.

Parents of students who may have been taught or interacted with the educator on a regular basis are being contacted directly.

Here is a copy of the release sent to parents:

Dear Katy ISD Parents and Staff,

Yesterday evening school administration learned that a Katy Junior High social studies teacher was arrested on campus by Katy ISD Police for allegedly engaging in an inappropriate relationship with one of our students.

The teacher is being charged with a second degree felony for improper relationship between educator and student. The teacher and student were found in the teacher’s portable classroom by a KISD Police Officer patrolling the campus on Sunday evening. The teacher has been removed from the classroom and placed on administrative leave, pending investigation.

Because the investigation is still ongoing, we are unable to provide additional information at this time, but please be assured the District takes this allegation very seriously and is fully cooperating with prosecutors. Parents of students who may have been taught by, or interacted on a regular basis with, are being contacted directly.

Providing a safe and secure learning environment is and will continue to be our top priority, and we will always act swiftly when that is compromised. Likewise, we will continue to do everything we can to ensure the safety of our students.

This last incident comes on the heels of an Aldine ISD teacher being arrested for allegedly giving a lap dance to a student for their birthday in front of the entire class.
