Wounded Marine Gets New Home

Posted: Updated:

Uniontown, Pa.- A U.S. Marine was honored for his bravery and camaraderie for serving in Afghanistan.

Marine Corporal Brandon Rumbaugh spent 18-months in hospital after an improvised explosive device blast took both of his legs while he was trying to rescue a fellow Marine.

On Sunday, Rumbaugh received the keys to a brand new handicapped-accessible home, built just for him.

He was overcome with emotion.

"It's one of these things you just can't explain. You can't. It’s hard to talk about it because it's so overwhelming that you don't. You can't find the words to explain the situation, it's amazing. It’s perfect," he said.

The house includes power doors, a therapy tub and even a safe room.
