Restaurant employee wounded during violent robbery

An armed suspect fires shots inside a northwest Houston McDonald's during a violent robbery.

According to Houston police department, around 11:15 p.m. Saturday, three unidentified suspects wearing hoodies entered the business.

One of the suspects armed with a pistol immediately opened fire.

Houston police department spokesperson John Cannon says that once the initial shot was fired, employees began fleeing out the back of the building.

As they were running, one suspect fired additional shots which struck an employee in the leg, Cannon says.

The worker was transported to Memorial Hermann Northwest Hospital for treatment.

Customers inside the business were robbed of cell phones and cash.
