MESA, Ariz. - A three car accident on US60 at Gilbert Road sent six people to the hospital.

Rescue crews from Mesa, Gilbert, and Tempe responded to the accident involving three cars. Paramedics took six patients to area hospitals, three of them with serious injuries.

DPS officers say that one vehicle stalled on the side of the freeway, a van collided with that vehicle causing multiple collisions.

All the patients taken to the hospital were in the broken-down vehicle on the side of the highway. Officers say the victims are teens between 17 to 19 years-old.
