U.S. Marshall's office and police arrested a man they say is responsible for a murder, he is identified as 42 year-old Homer Moore.

Moore is a former UFC MMA fighter, police say he is responsible for a gruesome murder back in 1999.

42 year old Homer Moore made his first appearance in court after a crime, Tempe Police say he committed 15 years ago.

"This is a charge, a formal charge, and it is for murder first degree class one felony," said Mike Pooley with Tempe Police.

According to court paperwork, Moore was accused of killing 19 year old Karam Hussein Jabbar in a drug deal gone bad back in 1999.

"At that time, they also killed him, bound his feet tied his hands behind his back they put a bag over his head, and they put him in the back of the vehicle," said Pooley.

Tempe Police and the U.S. Marshall's office caught up with Moore yesterday in the parking lot of Glendale Community College where he was arrested.

Authorities are glad to get him off the streets even though it's been years since the crime.

"Here we are 15 years later we're able to give answers to the family we're able to give answers to the community and let them know our detectives have been working on this from day one," he said.

Police say Moore was questioned by police after the crime occurred back in 1999 but there was not enough evidence to arrest him.

They say technological advances also helped in catching Moore. Police say more arrests could happen.
