NFL sources told FOX 26 Sports the Houston Texans signed free agent running back Andre Brown to a one-year deal worth $645,000, which is the minimum.
Brown's visit with the Texans began today and the two sides were able to strike a deal.
Brown, 27, has averaged 4.1 yards per carry during his five-year NFL career, which began when the New York Giants drafted him in the fourth round in 2009.
In his second stint with the Giants last season Brown carried the ball 139 times for 492 yards and three touchdowns.
He missed eight games of the 2013 season because of a leg injury.
Brown has also played for the Denver Broncos, Indianapolis Colts, Carolina Panthers and Washington Redskins.
