World War II veteran who captured Houstonians hearts after his home was trashed by vandals dies

His story sparked a range of emotions on social media.  A World War II veteran and his home trashed by teenaged vandals.

It happened just a month after his wife passed away.

Friday morning the son of 93-year old Elbert Wood's called us to let us know his father had passed away.  Mr. Wood's died peacefully in his sleep.
