Boy attacked by pack of wild dogs in a east Houston park

Posted: Updated:

A little boy is recovering after being attacked by a pack of dogs in a east Houston park on Thursday.

The attacked happened at the Pleasanton Manor Park near Holland Middle school off Demarre Lane and Munn Street.

T.L. Thomas was walking through the park when he said he saw at least six dogs, including some pit bull mixes attacking the boy.

Here is Thomas description of what he saw: "as I am coming through the trail right here, the dogs are right here ,attacking this little boy. so I zoom in... BAM!  You know just trying to get the dogs off the little boy. He's cryin. He can't speak English.  I can't speak Spanish and I get the dogs off of him."

FOX 26 crews at the scene spotted two large unleashed dogs running around the park.

Houston police and animal control officers say they were not part of the dog pack they were after.  Crews spent hours looking for the animals but so far have been unable to locate them.

Thomas says he and other neighbors have been reporting the stray dogs for years, but says no one from the city has been able to help.
