Medical examiner releases cause of death of beloved Pearland teacher
PEARLAND, Texas (FOX 26) -
The Harris County medical examiners office has released the autopsy findings into the death of a 47 year old Pearland High School teacher.
Tracie Burroughs became sick at school with flu-like symptoms and died at home a short time later.
The medical examiner said Burroughs did not die from the flu. Pathologists determined that a bacterial infection, complicated by several factors, including bleeding from her adrenal glands and the removal of her spleen years ago.
Burroughs taught at Pearland High School for nine years.
She was named the 2013 Teacher of the year.
