He's barely five years old, but one young boy will now have to grow up without his mother, Maria Lucrecia Pacheco, who was brutally murdered at the Eclipse gentleman's club in southwest Houston.
"She was a good person, a good mother," says her husband, German Castro. He tells FOX 26 News that he noticed something was wrong when his wife didn't come home from work.
He also says his son knows something bad happened to his mother, but doesn't know how to explain to him that she is gone. The man that police are looking for is Osvaldo Fernandez Aguilar, who is a fugitive.
"For you to come and kill a pregnant lady that you saw every day, for you to kill her and just walk out of the club like there is nothing wrong. I just don't understand how you can do that," says Rozbeh Sakaki, manager of Eclipse.
Today, Maria's boss made a plea to the public asking for help to find Aguilar, accused of beating Maria so bad, he caused her death.
Police had released surveillance video days after the murder, but it wasn't until workers saw an old mugshot of the alleged killer that they recognized him.
Sakaki says, "The person who killed Maria was actually working for us as a security at our club. This gentleman was fired three weeks prior to the incident that happened.
"It makes me mad because he would come to my DJ booth and I see now it could have been me," adds Jonathan Conrado, one of Maria's coworkers.
Maria Lucrecia was five months pregnant and her coworkers say Osvaldo would occasionally talk to her before the club opened.
Police and the manager of the nightclub confirmed the suspect stole approximately $1,000 dollars from one of the cash registers on the night of the killing.
Tonight, the victim's husband says he's enraged at such a senseless killing, that left him without his wife and his son without a mother, but he leaves justice in God's hands.
