HOUSTON (FOX 26) -

A bizarre situation is unfolding in the Cloverleaf area of East Harris County where a victim of a home invasion is shot 5 times and nobody calls 911 for nearly 70 minutes.

According to Harris County Investigators, around 2:30 a.m. Friday morning someone knocked on the victims home.

Investigators say they still don't know if the victim opened the door or the suspects forced their way in.

But they say the homeowner was shot five times in the torso area with a serious caliber weapon.  When the suspects left the home the victim as able to use the phone but he called his landlord and not 911.

The landlord didn't call 911 either, instead the landlord called her daughter who went to the home and then someone called 911.

Investigators told FOX 26 that the victim was already transported in serious condition by the time they arrived at the scene.

They say the victim is undergoing surgery at Ben Taub hospital and they won't be able to get a more detailed description of the victims until he is out.
