Public help wanted to ID suspect using cloned credit card

Posted: Updated:

The Harris County District Attorney's office is asking for the public's help in identifying a suspect who purchased items using a fraudulent credit card.

The card used was actually a clone and used at two Wal Mart stores on FM 1960 in Northwest Harris County back on February 17th.

Several images of the suspect were captured on surveillance cameras at Wal-Mart.

The crooks are able to clone credit cards through a process called skimming.  That is where thieves illegally copy information from the magnetic strip on the back of a debit or credit card.  The scammers using a fake or "cloned"card then run up charges using your account information.

Anyone with information about the identity of the suspect is asked to contact Crime Stoppers of Houston (713) 222-TIPS  (8477).
