College Student Shares Spring Break Nightmare

Posted: Updated:

A spring breaker from Michigan was kidnapped, beaten and sexually assaulted during a trip to Mexico. Luckily she lives to tell about it. The college student wants to use her story as a warning to other spring breakers.

It was a typical spring break night in Cabo San Lucas, Mexico. This Michigan state student and her friends were getting ready for a night out when they night took a dangerous turn.

"I was walking out. Usually we all get cabs but I couldn't find my friends. So [I thought I'd] just go by myself," recalls the college student.

That was this 21 year old's big mistake. She was alone for less than 60 seconds when she says a local man came out of nowhere and offered to hail her a cab.

She continues, "The guy opened the door of the cab for me and then the guy got in the cab.  At first it was like please just take me to the Fiesta Americana. Take me to my hotel."

But they never did. The man who offered to help her and that cab driver was apparently in cahoots together.

"I'm like please stop .please stop. Just let me get out of the car. They pushed me to the seat of the car. I remember they were talking in Spanish about killing me," remembers the spring breaker.

She says they kidnapped her, began assaulting her in the cab, and then drove her to a field .She says she tried to run but they grabbed her dragged her to a hill where they proceeded to rape her.

She said," I was just like this is not normal. This is not ok. I just need to get out. I was telling myself be calm."

Seconds felt like hours and then a car pulled up.

This young woman says her attackers got spooked and took off.

That's when she ran to a nearby hotel for help.

The 21-year-old eventually taken to the hospital for tests and treatment, but the emotional scars are still there.

She wanted to share her story to make sure this didn't happen to anyone else not just college students but high school students. She wants everyone to be aware of the dangers.

The Michigan State student says," you hear these stores never think it's going to be you. It happened to me in 10 minutes. It really want people to be aware don't be alone."
