The family of 46-year-old James Larry Cosby was too broken up to speak for themselves after learning Cosby's Sunnyside home is where investigators think he may have murdered his daughter Britney and her girlfriend Crystal Jackson -- both 24 -- before dumping their bodies at Port Bolivar. "There were obvious blood splatters. There was obvious large amounts of blood in the carpet," said Quanell X speaking for the family.
Galveston County Sheriff's investigators collected that evidence from the southeast Houston home overnight that led to Cosby's arrest. As of Thursday night he was charged with 2 counts of tampering with evidence, but that will likely be upgraded to capital murder. "'Do you think you have your guy? Yes I do, yes I do," said Galveston County Sheriff Henry Trochesset.
While the Sheriff would not speculate about a motive, Quannel X claims he found writings about homosexuality on Cosby's Koran indicating he may have had an issue with his daughters sexual orientation. "In Islam homosexuality is forbidden. It is forbidden. I learned today that Larry was a practicing Muslim," said Quanell X.
Crystal Jackson's family tells Fox 26 they forgive whoever killed their daughter and addressed the possibility that she was murdered because of who she loved. "I did not agree with her sexual orientation either, but I would not kill my daughter and Britany and then take them to Galveston and hide it. I love all my children the same," said Reverend Ivan Jackson, Crystal's father.
Cosby, a registered sex offender just released from prison last October, has an extensive criminal history with convictions for sexual assault, assault, drugs and weapons dating back to the late 80s. "It was very shocking, couldn't believe it," said Darryl Simien, who has lived next door to Cosby most of his life. "My daughter is right here there's nothing that could make me do nothing like that. I couldn't think why a man would think like that."
Cosby is being held in the Galveston County jail on a $500,000 bond. Investigators are still trying to locates the late couple's missing 2006 Kia Sorrento.
