Looking to drop a couple of dress sizes quickly? With Spring Break just around the corner, a lot of people are trying to get toned up. If you're looking to do it overnight, a body wrap may help.
"We literally shrink-wrap you to help you fit into your dress for those parties and charity events coming up," says Katina Kearns, spokeswoman for Renew Body Contouring.
She also walked us through a bentonite clay wrap that is supposed to help with acne. "This patient had troubles with back acne, and so we're trying to draw out those impurities, help clear up the back of the skin and make it nicer for her appearance-wise. With this wrap, we're going to apply bentonite clay, it's going to dry, pull up those impurities, and we're going to use an infrared light to increase the heat and pull that toxicity out," explains Kearns.
"For weight loss treatments, we use a great seaweed mud that comes from the Black Sea and another basic mud, again - very high in minerals that helps pull the water weight out, so this isn't long-term, but it is going to help you lose a couple of dress sizes! It's going to shrink-wrap you and make you look good. Then we'll put you in thermal blankets and wrap it around, adjust the temperature to heat it up to the right temperature to make her break a sweat. It's not too tight because we don't want to make her claustrophobic. It helps break that sweat, helps to detox, lose all the water weight. We're just pulling the water weight, but when you pull on that pretty tight dress, it'll fit perfectly for a while. What happens - people go to these events, drink champagne and carbonated drinks and bloat back up again, but if you maintain a good diet and don't drink a lot of carbonated drinks and stay away from alcohol, you'd be amazed at how long this will last," says Kearns.
A typical treatment costs $175, or $99 each when bought in a series. It takes about an hour for the treatment.
