FBI: Violent Sexual Predator Fugitive May Be Headed To Mexico

Posted: Updated:
Los Angeles, CA -

He's a man of many names...known to go by Kevin and Aimee, among many others. Yes I know, that is a strange one and no, I don't why.

He also has many different looks…all photographed in the many selfies he's taken but the one thing that doesn't seem to change in Kevin Briggs is that he's dangerous. Really dangerous, according to the FBI.

Armed, dangerous and desperate and now, thought to be here in the Southern California area.

Briggs is a convicted rapist and registered sex offender who having served his time is now a wanted man…again.

Police say he tried to rape a woman in Montana. And according to the victim, he tried to strangle her too.

When officers moved to arrest him, they say he attacked them; punching a female officer in the face. They managed to arrest him but unfortunately, not to keep him because the chemical engineering student is also a very talented escape artist and for the third time in his criminal career, escaped police custody.

Even though he was handcuffed and shackled he still managed to sneak out of jail during a shift change.

Briggs was spotted in the Bay area last week and the FBI thinks he may be here in LA as he works his way south to Mexico. Possibly staying in homeless shelters while making money to travel.

Briggs is his real name but he has a lot of aliases according to the FBI, including Kevin Bacon. Yes, just like Kevin Bacon the actor.

He's also been known to go by Aimee MacIntire (Aimee?), Timothy McCoy, James Meismer and James Zenon Meismer.

Whatever he's calling himself, if you see him, the only people you should call are the police.

There's a $10,000 reward for information leading to the arrest of Kevin Briggs.

For More Information:

(FOX 11 / AP) The FBI is asking for the public's help in locating a violent fugitive who was recently seen in the San Francisco Bay area and may be headed to Mexico.

A reward of up to $10,000 is offered for information leading to the arrest of 28-year-old Kevin Briggs, who escaped from police in Montana last week.

Briggs is a felon and registered sex offender who is accused of assaults against a woman and a police officer.

Investigators say he was seen last week in San Francisco, Berkeley and Oakland. He may currently be in Southern California.

The FBI says Briggs may be staying in homeless shelters.

The brown-haired Briggs is 5 feet, 5 inches tall and weighs about 135 pounds. He reportedly told an acquaintance he planned to travel to Mexico.
