"It's not the first time he's been robbed. They broke his arm. They shot up his house," says Paris Badgett as she looks at the police working behind the crime scene tape surrounding the small white house on Weeping Willow.
Two men stormed into the northwest Houston home at around 9 a.m. on Monday and shot a 26-year-old man who lives there. They injured a woman that neighbors identify as his mother and his younger brother escaped unharmed.
Police will not say what the motive was, or release a description of the men or the vehicle they were in because the information is too vague.
Neighbors say this was a drug house and the victim was a drug dealer. They say he had been acting paranoid lately and had said people were trying to kill him.
"This is the thing that happened when you live this life," said neighbor Shemica Campbell. "It's a shame they had to bring his mother into this."
