Baltimore Ravens Running Back charged with assault in domestic violence altercation

Posted: Updated:

Baltimore Ravens running back, Ray Rice, was arrested over the weekend after an alleged physical altercation involving his fiancée in Atlantic City, New Jersey.

The couple were both arrested at Revel Casino on the Atlantic City Boardwalk after an argument occurred. Rumor has it that Rice's fiancée spit on him and he allegedly uppercut her, knocking her unconscious.

According to The Baltimore Sun, Rice's attorney, Andrew Alperstein, confirmed that Rice was charged and released after allegations of which he described as a, "very minor physical altercation."

Twitter exploded this evening with tweets disappointed at Rice:

‘@autyelmore' tweeted, "I just don't understand how you can hit a woman. I just don't get it. You have everything. Stop doing this to yourselves."

‘@TRauch21' said, "A minor altercation or knocked unconscious? Significant difference no? either way not good. Smh."

‘@matt622h' posted, "So the NFL worries how a gay player will be accepted. But they have an open door policy on woman beaters?"

The off-season just started, let's just hope NFL players keep it cool this summer.,0,132362.story?track=rss
