Suspect Arrested: Booked for Girlfriend's Murder in Pasadena

The 18 yr old boyfriend of 19 yr old Irais Acosta has been booked for murder at Mens Central. Bail: $1-million.

The music was somber as candles burned giving a glow to posters showing pictures of Irais Acosta. The 19 year old was killed Sunday. She was shot to death at an apartment complex in the 1500 block of Raymond. It was Pasadena's first murder of 2014. This, in a city that only had two last year.

Police say before 4pm this afternoon suspect Jonjon Crummies turned himself into Sheriffs Deputites in Downtown LA. His mother brought him in. Acosta's family says for six months the two were in a relationship that her brother says went bad.

As mourners remembered Acosta both her brother and sister said they were glad Crummie was in custody.


Police in Pasadena are searching for a suspect in connection with the murder of a 19 year old woman found shot to death inside an apartment in the 1500 block of North Raymond Avenue yesterday morning.

The investigation led to a suspect identified as:  18 year old Jonjon Crummie, identified as the victim's boyfriend.    He was last seen running northbound from the location.

Crummie is considered armed and dangerous. If seen, do not attempt to apprehend.Please call the police department immediately.

(FOX 11/ CNS) - A woman was found dead after gunfire inside a Pasadena
home today, and police said they may have a "person of interest" in
connection with the apparent murder.

Officers were sent to a "shots fired" call at 8:30 a.m.,. in the 1500
block of North Raymond Avenue, and found the woman dead from an apparent
gunshot wound, said Pasadena police Lt. Vasken Gourdikian.

"Currently the scene is secured by detective personnel and there may be
a person of interest" in connection with the crime," he told City News

A SWAT team with a bloodhound was searching the scene. 

Neighbors said that a young man and his teenage brother lived at the apartment and that the shooting may have stemmed from an argument between the older brother and his girlfriend.

Police would not confirm that information and would not release the name of the dead woman.
