TAMPA (FOX 13) -

The 'Cheetah Hunt' roller coaster at Busch Gardens reopened this afternoon, two days after it left 15 riders stranded in a thunderstorm.

According to the park's Facebook page, the ride is "operating within its design parameter."

"Safety systems for the ride performed as designed and all guests are able to safely disembark from the ride," stated a post made this afternoon.

Fire trucks had to be called to the park to rescue the stranded passengers Wednesday. A lightning storm struck before everyone could be removed from the ride, but no one was injured.

Friday's Facebook update did not explain the cause of the apparent malfunction. A park spokesman reached by FOX 13 on Friday declined to elaborate beyond the post.
