NJ Transit suspends some bus service to aid plows

NEWARK, N.J. (AP) - New Jersey Transit has temporarily suspended all bus service in Morris and Essex counties and in Jersey City.

Officials requested the suspensions to assist plow crews in clearing the roads.

NJ Transit spokesman John Durso Jr. says ridership on the rails and roads is significantly lower than an average weekday.

All other bus routes are facing delays of up to 45 minutes.

Northeast Corridor and North Jersey Coast Line trains are operating 30 to 60 minutes behind schedule due to an Amtrak switching problem.

Morris & Essex trains are up to an hour late.

Durso says there are 15 minute delays on all other rail lines.

Buses and trains are cross-honoring tickets.

PATH has resumed normal service on the Newark to World Trade Center line after service was suspended earlier.

    A 9-year-old girl from New Jersey accidentally killed an Arizona shooting instructor as he was showing her how to use a fully automatic Uzi.
