NEW YORK (MYFOXNY) - Times Square just got a whole lot busier. After days of setting up a stage, lights, a toboggan run and lots of other activities, Super Bowl Boulevard has come to life.

It opened on Wednesday at noon and it's on Broadway and stretches from 34th Street up to 47th Street.

One and a half million people are expected to walk through the event which runs through Saturday.

The 8-lane toboggan run which is 60 feet high and 180 feet long is $5 to ride.

"It's high up there, I think when you're looking down at Times Square before you've done the toboggan you'll have the feeling 'I can't believe I'm doing this!'" said Mary Pat Augenthaler, the NFL's VP for event production. She said she expects huge crowds at the start of the Boulevard in front of Macy's where a 10-minute video will be projected onto the side of the store.

The concert stage on 40th Street has held big-name musicians and famous players who will be out in the cold signing autographs for fans.

Bundle up and take your best shot at the field goal kicking station and bring the kids by RUSH ZONE for some football fun.

"We hope that if you come here and don't love football, after you have a great time here, we hope you do love football when you leave," Augenthaler said. Jim Russell is volunteering and will help tourists get to the Super Bowl Roman numerals. Fans can take pictures next to the 17-foot-tall numbers on 42nd Street.

"When it's all set up its going to be great hopefully it will warm up," Russell said. "But I think it's going to be great for the city."A few blocks away, the Vince Lombardi Trophy will sit in a custom tent with glass walls in front of FOX Sports Studios on 46th Street.Earlier in the week, Brooklyn resident Judith Arroyo said: "We figure we start from the beginning and go all the way down, taking pictures and sending them to my brother in Florida as we go along."

But some people aren't impressed. "It's alright," said Oscar Aroyyo. "My boys ain't in it so I'm not really into it right now."

Super Bowl Boulevard will stay up until Saturday, February 1. It's open each day from 12 to 10 p.m.

After that, the party will then transition over to MetLife Stadium for the big game on Sunday.
