Researchers confirm caffeine improves memory

Posted: Updated:
NEW YORK (MYFOXNY) -

If you think you're having trouble remembering things, looks like a cup of coffee or two may help you out.

Researchers at Johns Hopkins University found caffeine helped the brain's ability to store long-term memories for at least 24 hours after they were formed.

The study involved volunteers who looked at images on a computer screen.

Afterwards, half were given a 200 milligram caffeine pill, which is equivalent to a large cup of coffee, and the other half were given a placebo.

Those given caffeine were better at distinguishing the images from similar ones the next day.

According to the FDA, 80 percent of adult Americans consume caffeine every day...

So whether it is tea, coffee, or soda, take a sip and keep in mind the positive effect it can have on your memory power.
