Police have not filed charges following a five-vehicle accident that ended with the death of a 59-year-old man on the Katy Freeway.
The accident was reported around 9 a.m. Tuesday on the westbound lanes of Interstate 10 between the Park Ten and Barker-Cypress Road exits.
The driver of a gray Chevrolet Tahoe was traveling west on the Katy Freeway when the vehicle struck a silver Chevrolet Impala. The 59-year-old passenger of the Impala died at the scene of the accident.
The 21-year-old driver of the Impala was taken by Life Flight medical helicopter to Memorial Hermann Hospital in critical condition.
The driver of the Tahoe did not show any signs of impairment and was not injured.
