TEMPE, Ariz. (AP) - A Tempe man accused of fatally shooting one person and wounding another at an apartment complex has pleaded not guilty in the case.

Maricopa County prosecutors say 18-year-old Daniel Cody Taylor entered his plea at his arraignment Monday. His next scheduled court date is Feb. 14.

Tempe police say Taylor crashed a party Dec. 7 at an apartment complex but was asked to leave by the resident.

Police allege Daniel returned early the following morning and fired into the unit's front patio, fatally wounding Jeff Ward and wounding a woman.

Taylor was arrested on suspicion of first-degree murder and aggravated assault with a deadly weapon.

Prosecutors say it appears Taylor didn't know the victims and the shootings appeared to be random.
