TRENTON, N.J. (AP) - The lawmaker leading a state legislative investigation into a traffic mystery approaching the George Washington Bridge says additional subpoenas are likely to be issued.

Assemblyman John Wisniewski says his office is wading through as many as 5,000 documents from the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey and its top two state appointees, who have resigned.

Wisniewski says he's trying to determine why two approach lanes were closed without warning, how high up the chain of command the authorization went and how such an abuse of power could have occurred.

He says others may be called to testify.

Executive Director Patrick Foye already testified under oath.

The lane closings caused gridlock at the mouth of the span in Fort Lee, and were allowed to continue for four days.

But, if you can believe it, there's something else this 4-year-old is even more excited about: Times Square is going gold. The chairman of the Times Square Advertising Coalition announced the crossroads of the world is going to light up in gold to raise awareness for pediatric cancer research.

It appears the subway bedbug problem we've been reporting is getting worse. Commuters already have to contend with sweltering platforms, scurrying rats and packed train cars, and now there's another transit woe: fear of bedbugs.
