LI man shot to death in Christmas Day gunfire

MEDFORD, N.Y. (AP) - Police say a Long Island man was killed and three others injured in Christmas Day shooting by masked robbers.

Suffolk County police responded to a 911 call at about 3:30 a.m. that two robbers demanded money and then shot for people at Ray's Engine Installation, according to Newsday (http://bit.ly/K3H5jT ). They fled.

Ninenteen-year-old Taleik Bristel was pronounced dead at the scene. The three other victims were hospitalized with non-life-threatening injuries.

Det. Lt. Jack Fitzpatrick told the newspaper the victims were all friends. He says two men were shot in the back, and a woman was shot in the abdomen, Fitzpatrick said.

Police are investigating.
