Mom, Daughter Found Fatally Stabbed After Bucks County Fire

Posted: Updated:
BRISTOL TWP., Pa. -

An investigation is under way at the scene of a fire where a young mother and child were found dead in Bucks County.

The fire broke out Monday around 4 p.m. at the Avalon Court Apartments on the 3500 block of Oxford Valley Road in Levittown.

Family members rushed to the scene Monday to get the devastating news.

Now, the Bucks County district attorney says it appears the victims were stabbed, and the fire may have been set to conceal evidence.

Relatives told FOX 29 News that the victims are 22-year-old Ebony Tally and her 4-year-old daughter, R'mani.

"She was such a good person and a loving person and she never did nobody wrong," said a cousin, Brittany Coles.

Relatives on the scene also tell us the mother was pregnant.

The apartment the victims were apparently subletting from someone who is out of the country faces the courtyard. Sheets were put up to cover the windows where neighbors and friends say glass blew out and smoke poured from when the fire first started.

Detectives remained at the scene until the wee hours of Tuesday morning.

Officials said search warrants were issued and a man was arrested on separate drug charges.

Authorities are still investigating what caused of the fire, and they're expected to release more details Tuesday.

Newportville Fire, Falls Township and Bristol Township police units all responded along with the fire marshal.

FOX 29's Shawnette Wilson and Dawn Timmeney have more details in these video reports.
