Candy Crush Saga dominates global mobile gaming in just 1 year

On Nov. 15, King, the company that created the mobile device game Candy Crush Saga, celebrated a year of success with more than half a billion downloads of the game.

Candy Crush Saga launched on mobile devices in 2012.

The half-billion downloads meant Candy Crush Saga was one of the most popular mobile games of all time.

Candy Crush Saga challenges players to mix and match sweet treats in a combination of three of more and gain points and bonuses as they progress through the game.

With more than 400 challenging levels, players are able to seamlessly synchronize their progression with multiple devices using Facebook, which lets players access the game anytime and anywhere.

Increases in smartphone and tablet computer has translated into more people playing games on those mobile devices.

Candy Crush Saga is available for free download on iTunes, Google Play, Amazon AppStore or on Facebook.

More than 150 billion individual Candy Crush Saga games have been played and one in every 23 Facebook users is a Candy Crush Saga fan.
