KATY, Texas -

Fort Bend County Sheriff's Office deputies arrested a cheerleading coach at the Katy-area facility where he was employed after a girl told investigators that coach sexually assaulted her three times.

Devincent Phillips, 40, was taken into custody by Fort Bend County Sheriff's Office Special Crimes detectives at his workplace, Xcel Athletics, on South Mason Road in the Katy area on Thursday.

Phillips is charged with sexual assault of a child.

A girl who had attended sessions at the cheerleading training facility told investigators that Phillips sexually assaulted her three times. The incidents took place in Harris County, but the girl is a Fort Bend County resident and the case was filed in that county.

The girl notified authorities of the incidents in late October.

Phillips is in custody at the Harris County jail with a $20,000 bond.

Detectives are concerned that there may be more victims. Anyone with information about related cases are encouraged to contact the Fort Bend County Sheriff's Office by phone at 281-341-3863 or Fort Bend County Crime Stoppers, Inc. at 281-342-8477 (TIPS).
