Buffalo Bills fan who fell faces criminal charges

Posted: Updated:

BUFFALO, N.Y. (AP) - A football fan seen falling from the top deck of the Buffalo Bills' stadium into the stands below is facing criminal charges.

WIVB in Buffalo reports that Erie County Sheriff's deputies Wednesday arrested Rob Hopkins on assault and reckless endangerment charges.

Hopkins was seen on video sliding down a 300-level railing during Sunday's Buffalo Bills game against the Jets and then toppling backward and falling into the 200 section. Authorities say he landed on a fan.

Both men were taken to a hospital and later released.

On Tuesday, Hopkins' employer issued a statement saying he was no longer employed at the Buffalo firm. The Buffalo Bills has also banned him from the stadium.

Hopkins is to be arraigned on Dec. 3.

It wasn't clear if he had a lawyer.
