The Minnesota Department of Administration's Surplus Services is holding an online auction, with some items that may be of particular interest to Twins Fans.
Here's a look at five things that caught our eye at https://www.minnbid.org
1. The Metrodome "baggie"
The right field tarp known lovingly as The Baggie is being sold, with the opening bid at $100. The Baggie measures 16 ft x 190 ft, with a Velcro top and bottom edge. The Baggie is up for auction as part of the Minnesota Sports Facilities Authority's ongoing Metrodome garage sale.
2. Snow plow
Homer Simpson was talked into buying a snow plow and earned a key to the city for his Mr. Plow venture. Bids were up to $9,000 Friday morning for one of the two plows available (that's a lot of driveways).
3. Metrodome pitcher's mound
The mound up for auction has only been in place since 2004, so it doesn't come with the panache of a World Series run (but your friends don't need to know that).
4. Mobility bus
There's one full-size bus up for auction, but there were 22 of these 2007 Ford E450 buses available Friday morning, with bids starting at $250. The buses average about 200,000 miles on the odometer, but most are listed in "good condition." All aboard!
5. FieldTurf groomer
You have grass, not FieldTurf, so this is completely useless to you. That doesn't mean it's not cool.
