Manhattan bakery unveils 'Thanksgivukkah' doughnuts

Posted: Updated:
NEW YORK (MYFOXNY) -

There are times when I love my job. This is one of those times. What I was gobbling down is a special Thanksgiving and doughnut. But this isn't the usual glazed or jelly doughnut.

These are the invention of Zucker Bakery's Gil Levy, who made a traditional Hanukkah doughnut and combined it with Thanksgiving. The bakers use spiced pumpkin dough and stuffed it with the turkey and cranberry mix, turkey gravy mix or just the cranberry sauce.

And then there's the sweet potato dough doughnut stuffed with marshmallow.

I tried the fresh out of the fryer turkey cranberry mixed doughnut.

The doughnuts officially go on sale at Zucker Bakery on Saturday. The bakery will keep selling them until the end of the year or longer, depending on demand.

Friday's tasting was for food bloggers and critics. Like me, they gobbled the doughnuts up. I couldn't get enough of the sweet potato marshmallow doughnut.
