Posted: Updated:
GREAT NECK, N.Y. (AP) - A Long Island man has been arrested for allegedly impersonating a police officer.

Nassau County police say the suspect was driving a dark colored vehicle when he pulled over a motorist on Grace Avenue in Great Neck. He exited the car and allegedly produced a police mini shield and identified himself as a police officer.

Police say he told the driver that she had committed several traffic violations.

The suspect was identified as Steven Kleiman of West Hempstead.

He was charged with criminal impersonation. It wasn't immediately clear if he had a lawyer.

The driver was not injured.
