Montgomery county teen charged for abusing a young child

Posted: Updated:
HOUSTON (FOX 26) -

In Montgomery County people are still trying to wrap their heads around the case.

Anna Clark says, "personally I think that's really gross I don't understand why people would do something like that."

At the center of the investigation is 17 year old Llewellyn Van Sligtenhorst.

A juvenile whose crimes investigators say are so haneous that he's been charged as an adult in Montgomery County. Rare in this community.

"16 is enough you got enough knowledge to know the difference between right and wrong," says Larry Clark.

Prosecutors say Sligtenhorst while 16 years old videotaped and sexually assaulted a 6 year old male relative.

We're told the child was victimized on multiple occasions while he was being cared for by Sligtenhorst.

Investigators say the high school student also put the videos online, traded them and even took requests from strangers across the country to perform sex acts on the child.

J.D. Lambright is the Montgomery County Attorney.

He says, "we have charged him with 46 counts from aggravated sexual assault....to restraining a child."

Lambright also says the 6 year old victim appeared to be drugged when the acts were performed on him and videotaped.

He says, "you just wonder how does someone get to where they can possibly conceive doing these things its very very sick."

Lambright says Harris County is also looking at the 17 year old for the possible sexual assault of another child there.

In the meantime, those who live in Montgomery County where detectives say the crime took place are applauding the 17 year old being charged as an adult.

Sligtenhorst is expected to before a grand jury this week on his adult charges.

He's currently being held in the Montgomery County jail under a $500,000 bond.
