HOUSTON (FOX 26) -

NFL sources told FOX 26 Sports the Houston Texans will sign free agent running back Deji Karim and running back Dennis Johnson from the Cleveland Browns practice squad.

Both were cut by the Texans prior to the opening of the regular season.

The Texans will also sign inside linebackers Jeff Tarpinian and Tavares Gooden.

The club will also promote running back Ray Graham from the Texans practice squad to the 53-man roster.

The Texans are adding the running backs because of injuries to running backs Arian Foster and Ben Tate.

Foster missed most of the Kansas City Chiefs game with a hamstring injury and Tate has four broken ribs.

Foster said prior to the bye week he will be ready to play against the Indianpolis Colts.

Tate told the Associated Press he also expected to be able to play against the Colts.'

Tarpinian played for the New England Patriots from 2011-2013.

He was released from the Carolina Panthers practice squad last week.

Gooden played three years with the Baltimore Ravens (2008-2010) and two years with the San Francisco 49ers (2011 & 2012).
