Wrong way fatal accident driver make court appearance

Posted: Updated:
HOUSTON (FOX 26) -

Brittini Kressin posted her $30,000 bond and walked out of the Harris County Jail. Her family, friends and lawyer were all there to greet her and try to shield her from the cameras. But she'd already been on television. The last time she was sitting in the back of a patrol car, arrested on suspicion of DWI..

Police say she got on the Katy Freeway the wrong way the morning of the fifteenth. All the evidence is not in yet, they are waiting for the blood tests results to come back. Prosecutors say they believe she'd been drinking based on conversations with the arresting officer.

"He asked her where she was going, tell him how she got there and her response was she didn't know. She just had no reason to be on the freeway and no explanation for why she was there." said Assistant District Attorney Daniel Werlinger.

She did admit to being at a bar for happy hour.. and was on her way to meet someone at a restaurant.

Here's why she was in the back of that patrol car and why she was in jail. She was not only allegedly intoxicated and going the wrong way, she hit another car. The impact killed a twenty year old woman in the other car. Then a motor cycle plowed into that wreck. The rider has a broken leg.

After making bond, Kressin had to go before a judge She faces a charge of intoxication manslaughter. There will be many more court appearances and more appearances on television...

. In the meantime they have not released the name of that young woman who died.
