Even before the new trains roll out to Metro's expanded light rail line, the agency is battling vandalism.
Fox 26 news has learned crews have been working nonstop to cover gang signs and graffiti on all the new rail lines.
The problem is really evident on the North Line where trains are expected to roll as soon as Christmas.
Tom Lambert with Metro says the contractor who's building the light rail line has been addressing the ongoing problem with paint crews.
But Lambert says the graffiti plague is bigger than Metro.
He says, "I don't think it's something we're seeing only on the rail system it's reflective of what's happening in the community."
Metro officials say that's why they want to work with neighborhoods and area law enforcement agencies in the region to tackle the problem.
Lambert also says he would like Metro employees and residents to help out by reporting any vandalism on the lines.
