Body of man pulled from Ga. river identified

JOHNS CREEK, Ga. (AP) - Authorities have identified a body that was pulled from a portion of the Chattahoochee River in Johns Creek on Monday afternoon.

Johns Creek city spokesman Doug Nurse said Tuesday that the body of 29-year-old Omar Hugh Richards was found by a passing kayaker south of the McGinnis Ferry Road bridge.

Authorities haven't determined the man's cause of death.

Nurse says Richards was reported missing Sept. 22 and his body has been transferred to the Fulton County Medical Examiner's Office.

Johns Creek is about 25 miles northeast of downtown Atlanta.
