A Highlands resident faces a felony charge of online impersonation after several men visited the home of her ex-boyfriend's girlfriend expecting sexual encounters.
Samantha Weber, 38, was charged after a Harris County Precinct 4 Constable's Office investigator obtained subpoenas and search warrants from Craigslist.com, AT&T Wireless and Google to determine that her account was used to place a phony advertisement on the Craig's List website that solicited men to visit Heather McCarthy's Cypress-area home on April 18 for sex acts.
McCarthy was in fear for her safety when multiple men visited her home. Her boyfriend, who was the ex-boyfriend of Weber, helped protect McCarthy from the unwanted visitors. She told a Pct. 4 deputy that she did not place the advertisement on Craig's List.
