Houston officer indicted in official oppression case

HOUSTON (FOX 26) -

A Houston police officer, who was already on suspension, has now been indicted by a grand jury, FOX 26 News has learned.

Officer Garrett Lindley, 26, is accused of kicking a handcuffed inmate in the head while the suspect was already in custody.

A grand jury has indicted Ofc. Lindley on a charge of official oppression.

Lindley joined the Houston Police Department in 2009 and was indefinitely suspended by the department in July over the kicking incident. Lindley posted a $1,000 bond and is awaiting his next court appearance.
