Norwich man found with cache of guns, drugs

NORWICH, Conn. (AP) - Police have seized a cache of guns from an accused Norwich drug dealer.

The Bulletin reports that police say they stopped Kevin Ganns' pickup truck on Wednesday and found a loaded .38 caliber revolver and a bottle of oxycodone hydrochloride tablets. Police say the tablets were the same as what Ganns sold to undercover officers.

A search of his home produced 12 more handguns, five rifles and three shotguns. Police said many of the guns were loaded and more than half were not registered to Ganns. Police also seized several thousand rounds of ammunition in various calibers.

Authorities also seized 1.7 grams of cocaine, 1.7 grams of heroin and other drugs.

The 34-year-old Ganns is scheduled to be arraigned in Norwich Superior Court on drug charges on Oct. 13.
