Women are too hard on themselves, article says

MYFOXNY.COM -

Sometimes we women are so hard on ourselves. Our self-criticizing ways prompted the Huffington Post to come up with a list to make us feel better. Emma Gray, editor for HuffPost Women, wrote a post entitled "23 Things Every Woman Should Stop Doing." She spoke to Fox 5 about what prompted her to write the story.

Maybe you're guilty of doing something on the list. Yes, holding onto regrets and guilt is no. 9 on the list.

Do you wear high heels everyday? That's no. 10.

Maybe you view food as the enemy? That's no. 4.

Do you set deadlines for major life events such as marriage and motherhood?

Or maybe you say "yes" when you mean "no" and spend time with people just out of obligation?

Dr. Cooper Lawrence, a psychologist, said she is not surprised the list shows women putting themselves last. She said it is part of our nature as caregivers.

John and Chris DiCapua's sitting room in their parents' Westchester County home has had a unique guest lying around for quite a while now: a CPR dummy. What began as an idea from their time as Boy Scouts is now a device that could potentially save lives.
